Paul Gready

Centre for Applied Human Rights (CAHR), University of York

 Paul Gready is the Co-Director of the Centre for Applied Human Rights (CAHR), University of York, and holds a UNESCO Chair in the Protection of Human Rights Defenders and Expansion of Political Space. CAHR has run a Protective Fellowship Scheme for HRDs at Risk for 15 years. The UNESCO Chair will develop a global network to share knowledge and build capacities within universities to support activism and provide protection. His other research interests include transitional justice, human rights cities, and culture and human rights.
